I'm working on a bunch of stuff, rotating through drawing the comic and designing the new website. Last night (and some of today) I sketched this out:
 I'll start inking it and post up the finished pic soon.

EDIT 11/27/06: BOOB LIFT! (old version here) Thanks goes to Snow!
Here's a sketch for today:
 I was revising Natsuki's character design. Most of the time in whatever I draw, I tend not to draw the entire figure in the picture. I have a lot of problems drawing anatomy... Hands and feet are extremely hard for me as well. I like to cover up these things up with fog, or put them behind the character, or cropped off the picture.
Well, I didn't that for this one. It was really tough to sketch. I'm happy I did it though, because I'm pleased with the result. I plan to ink and possibly color this at a later time.
BTW, I'm still working on all the "challenge" artworks still. I worked at my job all this weekend, and whatever little time I had, I've been doing bits and pieces of the artworks. Expect them all in a big post within a few days.
Also: I'm going to do some major overhauling on my website. I'm actually going to turn it into a mini-site and get rid of the whole newsblog and art archives and everything else. Flickr might become the place to store all my artwork. My LJ might be the replacement for the newsblog, because I post here all the time anyways. I'm basically downsizing my website and cutting all the fat. We'll see.

Everyone loves drawings! Yes! Drawings are awesome!
A week or so ago, I didn't have access to my computer. There were times I felt like I HAD TO DRAW, so I sketched stuff in my small sketchbook with a ballpoint pen (I always enjoy drawing with ballpoint pens).
So, I drew random strangers I saw, random faces I thought of in my head, short comic doodles, and stuff related to The Bounty and Space Ninja Natsuki. Fun fun! LJ-CUT INCOMING!

~~~~~ I am impressed that I have a great grasp on my own style. I can draw stuff like this in a matter of seconds! For some reason, it seems to me, my cartoony style is like Osamu Tezuka meets Yoshiyuki Sadamoto meets Bryan Lee O'Malley! I'm very inspired by a lot of works and incorporated parts of what some other artists do into my own style. I'll be pretty busy with all this making-up college work, some crazy presentations about Japanese Buddhism, Work and shit... but I'll be posting up some finished works for your consumption within a week or so. I'll also see some people in person too real soon! Have fun folks!
I didn't draw too much today, mainly because my brain is trying to get into study mode. Here are some sketch concepts of Major Conrad and a concept Vespas soldier:
 Before, I talked a bit about character designs. One of the things I learned was that I needed to have fun with whatever I was drawing, as well as make my characters different from one another. One of my problems was trying to get anatomy or body size "perfect", and this would make things less fun and take a lot of time to draw something.
One of the reasons why I have a lot of fun drawing The Bounty characters is that I said, "SCREW ANATOMY!" and decided to make my characters look expressive. I wanted Major Conrad to be this big tough guy with a barrel shaped chest... a person with a big ego that parts of his body couldn't cope with. Bethany is relatively small compared to most characters in the world of Avaren, because I wanted to give that feeling that people look down at her. However, Bethany as a character is a very expressive and strong-willed person through her actions and words.
Midterms are coming up, and I'll be pretty darn busy for the week. After that's over, I'll probably have some fun and have more drawings for you all.
Drew a sketch of the Cover for The Bounty:
Apologies go to Mike Mignola, for I have stolen his picture frame and fog machine. An Inked and Color-painted version will be up by tomorrow.
Hey everyone! Just showing what I've been working on lately:
[Natsuki Team Pencil Sketch]
A lot of things have been clicking in my mind lately. I think since I've been drawing/sketching on an almost daily basis, I can visualize images very quickly now. Before, I had to start drawing and progressively form the picture in my head. Now, I can just visualize it in my mind and just sketch it on paper. It's a great feeling.
I'll be inking this up, and after that, make a color version. I also might incorporate it into a new site design.
Did some more sketching tonight. Decided to draw different various faces to try my range of style and character design.
Just a sketch for tonight, folks:
 The phrase came up randomly in my head, and I felt like drawing something in relation to that real quick.
